Bradley John Newman

Bradley “Brad” John Newman, age 58, of Rose Creek, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys Campus, due to a heart attack. Brad was born at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin on July 16, 1967, to Leslie and Anne (Drucker) Newman. He grew up on Hwy 218 South of Austin, where he cultivated a love for animals and the outdoors, raising raccoons, sheep, and calves, and riding horses, three-wheelers, motorcycles, tractors, and trucks. He graduated from Austin High School with the class of 1985. On March 16, 2019, he married the love of his life, Tonia Bates-Boyd on their farm near Rose Creek, Minnesota. Throughout the years, Brad worked as a specialty mechanic at QPP, Nightmare Express Hauling, and most recently owned Route 56 in Rose Creek. Brad was known for his love of motorcycle “scooter” rides with "the fellas" and had a lifelong passion for animals. He raised a variety of creatures, including squirrels, raccoons, chickens, cattle, and koi fish, and took pride in his beautiful flowers and trees. His home was his pride and joy. As a skilled mechanic and body worker, Brad restored numerous old cars and trucks to their original beauty. He enjoyed helping others with their projects and sharing his vast knowledge of life, mechanics, and autobody work, captivating young and old alike with his engaging stories. The misfit holidays spent in his shop were a highlight of the year, filled with storytelling and socializing. His tireless spirit and the ability to accomplish so much in a day inspired everyone around him. Brad will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.
