Beverly Jean Draayer

Beverly Jean Draayer, age 79, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Born on January 1, 1947, in Hill City, South Dakota, Beverly was the daughter of Edwin and Della (Ellingson) Nichols.

Beverly graduated from Albert Lea High School and went on to earn her Practical Nursing degree from the Austin Area Vocational-Technical Institute. She spent her career caring for others as an LPN at Burr Oak and Comforcare, along with additional home care work through an agency.

On November 16, 1964, Beverly married Arthur “Art” Draayer in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and simple joys. Beverly was a longtime member of Faith Church.

Nothing meant more to her than her family. She loved sewing and especially cherished time with her grandchildren. Family was her life, and she lived that truth every day.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Art; children, Patrick Draayer of Austin, Minnesota and Kim Draayer of Austin, Minnesota; three grandsons, Calvin, William, and Gabriel; and her half‑sisters, Vickie, Lita, and Erin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her twin brother, Terry Nichols, who died in infancy.

A funeral service for Beverly will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin. Interment will be held in Hollandale Cemetery. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
