Beverlee Ann Starry, age 69, of Austin, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday evening, October 2, 2010 after a brave and courageous battle with cancer, at her home. She was born August 24, 1941 in Austin to Ernest and Vesta (Clayton) Haskin. She was raised in Austin along with her five brothers and four sisters. Beverlee Ann graduated from Austin High School in 1960. On June 12, 1965 she was united in marriage to Donald Eugene Starry Sr. at the First United Methodist Church in Austin. Donald and Beverlee were blessed with three children. They made their home in Austin where Donald worked for Hormel and Beverlee was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. Beverlee's faith in the Lord was important to her along with her family. She had a magnetic personality and always acknowledged everyone with a kind word and beautiful smile. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, enjoyed feeding the birds and animals, watching sports and playing cards with her family. Beverlee also enjoyed her special pet, Hampton. Survivors include her husband, Donald Eugene Starry Sr., Austin, MN; sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Joni Starry, Becker, MN, Dan and Jeanice Starry, Somerset, WI; daughter, Jacqueline Starry, Austin, MN; grandchildren, Justin, Alli, Bethany, Courtney, Megan and Jaedyn; four brothers, Lloyd Haskin, Independence, IA, James (Jean) Haskin, Dunkerton, IA, Ernest C. (Rose) Haskin, Denver, IA, Harold (Sharon) Haskin, Hackensack, MN; two sisters, Dorothy (Harvey) Todalen, Austin, MN, Velma Bonnerup, Albert Lea, MN; sister-in-law, Sharron Haskin, Waterloo, IA; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth Haskin; two sisters and their husbands, Eleanor and Fred Lickteig, Arlis and Ronald Snyder; sister-in-law, Jeanne Haskin; very best friend, Ruthie Folie. Blessed be her memory. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Pat Toschak officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 pm on Tuesday at Mayer Funeral Home and also one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
