Betty Ann Schewe

Betty Ann Schewe, age 81, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin. Betty was born on February 17, 1945, to David Park and Neva (McAlister) Stevens in Austin, Minnesota. She graduated from Austin High School in 1963 and went on to study communications at Austin Community College completing her degree in 1981. Betty was united in marriage to Lawrence L.D. Schewe on June 22, 1963, in Austin. Betty and Lawrence were life-long Austin area residents and were members of the Church of Christ. She had a passion for singing and sang at many weddings and funerals. She worked many years in retail sales management at places like Younkers and Target. She also enjoyed working at the Mower County Senior Center in the Café and at the reception desk. She loved spending time with people and her dogs Buddy Boy and Roxy.

Betty is survived by her two brothers, Walter (Sara) Stevens and Edwin (Sharon) Stevens; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Schewe; parents, David and Neva Stevens; sister, Mary Ellen Stevens; brothers, Wibur (Judy) Stevens and Murwin Stevens.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin with Dr. Paul McAlister officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Youth for Christ or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Services are prearranged and performed with Worlein Funeral Home of Austin.
