Barbara Ann Roberts

Barbara Ann Roberts, age 78, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Austin. She was born on September 24, 1946, in Albert Lea to Harry and Beverly (Spurr) Modderman. She attended school at Albert Lea High School and received her two-year degree in medical secretary and legal secretary. In 1963 she married Cullins Roberts, and the couple was blessed with 2 children. She was a homemaker most of her life raising their two boys. She enjoyed cooking, baking, family gatherings and decorating the home for every holiday. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Albert Lea, AA and Alanon. Barbara was a very crafty person who loved sewing and knitting. In her younger years she loved playing the accordion and organ and more recently enjoyed playing games on her phone. Barbara is survived by her two sons, Barry (Dawn) Roberts of Albert Lea, and Chad Roberts of Twin Lakes, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; former husband, Cullins Roberts; siblings Martin Modderman of Albert Lea, Joni Modderman of Milaca, MN, Jacki (Wayde) Stene of Albert Lea, Mary (Dale) Sorensen of Albert Lea, and Rose Modderman (Dave Hanson) of Albert Lea; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry (Ardys) Modderman and Beverly Modderman, infant daughter, Baby Girl Roberts in 1980, grandson, Joseph Roberts; and step-brother Merydyth “Don” Haines. A celebration of life for Barbara will be held later this summer. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
