Barbara Parmenter

Barbara Ann Parmenter, age 63, of Austin, died Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin. Barb was born August 13, 1954 in Le Mars, Iowa to Junior and Darlene (Sanow) Conner. The family moved to Austin in 1967. On September 23, 1995 she was united in marriage to John Parmenter and they made their home in Austin. Barb was employed as a nurse’s aide at various nursing homes including, Burr Oak Manor, Sacred Heart Care Center and Our House Assisted Living. Barb enjoyed going to the casino, bingo and Yahtzee, caring for her grandchildren: who enjoyed pizza parties with grandma. She was a strong caring person, a fighter, who always put others needs before her own. Survivors include her husband, John Parmenter, Austin, MN; daughter, Dawn (Kenny) Stroebl, Kasson, MN; sons, Donny Stroebl, Dodge Center, MN, Matthew Stroebl, Kasson, MN, Jeff (Christine) Parmenter, Austin, MN; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; mother, Darlene Conner, Austin, MN; brothers, Bruce Conner, Austin, MN, Dean (Wendy) Conner, Austin, MN, Rick (Lori) Conner, Bloomington, MN; sisters, Betty (Daryl) Griese, Austin, MN, Deb (Don) Enfield, Austin, MN, Penny Conner, Austin, MN, Bonnie (John) Morrison, Humboldt, IA She is preceded in death by her father, Junior Lee Conner; sister Fay Enfield; brother, Gene Conner; sister-in-law, Diana Conner. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 23, at Austin Christian Fellowship with Barry Thompson and Gene Culbert officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 am until the time of the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Memorials preferred.
