Ann Marie Virchow

Ann Marie Virchow, age 84, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Good Samaritan Society, Comforcare, in Austin, Minnesota. Ann was born on April 24, 1942 in Gordonsville, Minnesota, to Arley and Bertha (Ness) Virchow. Elementary school was attended at the country school, and she graduated from Glenville High School. Over the years, she worked many jobs in the food industry ranging from working in the kitchen to waitressing. Every Sunday, the radio would be playing a church service. She enjoyed her coffee, sweet rolls, chocolate cake, popcorn, and Culvers fish dinner. Ann loved spending her time outdoors, fishing, watching her bird feeders, and feeding her dogs, Lady and Parker off her plate.

Ann is survived by her brother, James Virchow; sister, Ruth (Joe) VanHooser; Dan (Jill) VanHooser, and Tom (Lynette) VanHooser; nieces, Judy Braaten, Sue (Jim) Flanagan, and Barb (Dave) Solland; and many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arley and Bertha Virchow; brother, Charles Virchow; and sister-in-law, Linda Virchow.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Comforcare and Mayo Hospice for they provided in the last few months.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Glenville, Minnesota. Visitation will take place for one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Glenville, Minnesota. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
