Albert Landherr

Albert L. Landherr, age 87, formerly of Austin, died peacefully at his VA medical foster home in North St. Paul, MN on Saturday, November 16, 2019. Albert was born to John & Margaret (Majerus) Landherr on January 8, 1932, near Rose Creek, MN. He joined the United States Navy in 1951 serving in the Korean War on the USS Princeton. On May 20, 1957 He was joined in marriage at Sacred Heart Church in Meyer, IA to Evelyn Hemann. Albert was employed by Rath Packing Company in Waterloo for 29 years. He was a life time member of the Evansdale Amvets Post 31 where he served as Commander. When he moved to Austin, MN he joined the VFW were he also served as Commander. He also loved to call BINGO at the VFW as well as helping with meals and their Voice of Democracy program. He enjoyed camping with his wife & grandchildren, taking care of his large garden & watching the VFW boys ball team play. In the winter time he enjoyed blowing snow for his friends & neighbors. Albert is survived by his two children, Steven, Austin, MN, Lori (Don) Boesen, Owatonna, MN; two grandchildren, Amber Boesen (Edward Simmons), Jacksonville, FL, Alisa Stuckey (Marc Fatigati), Asheville, NC; two sisters-in-law, Linda Landherr, Rose Creek, MN, Sally Michels, Austin, MN; brother-in-law, Clem Hemann, Osage, IA. He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn; his parents; a brother & sister; five brothers-in-law & six sisters-in-law. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating. Friends may call from 9 am until the time of the Mass at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with military rites by the Adams American Legion Post #146.
