Lois Johnson

May 20, 1927 — May 8, 2020

Lois E. Johnson, age 92, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, May 8, 2020, at Villages of Lonsdale in Lonsdale, Minnesota. Lois was born May 20, 1927 in Waseca, Minnesota to Otto and Gertrude (Geldner) Beier. She grew up in Waseca and graduated from Waseca High School in 1945. On June 30, 1946, Lois was united in marriage to Harold R. Johnson in Waseca. The couple moved to Austin, Minnesota. To this union three children were born. She loved being a mother to her three children and enjoyed baking for her family. When friends and family stopped by, she would bake them their favorite treats. She enjoyed playing cards and board games with her family. Lois took much pride in the fact that she lived in her Austin home over 65 years. Church was important to Lois and she was a devoted member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church for over 70 years. Lois will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Kos of Apple Valley, Minnesota and a son Jeffrey Johnson of Rollingstone, Minnesota: a brother, Paul (Kathy) Beier of Coon Rapids, Minnesota and a sister, Alice Zellmer of Janesville, Minnesota; four granddaughters, eight great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son and two sisters.

Private family services will take place at a later date. On behalf of Lois Johnson, we would like to offer a special thank you to Moment’s Hospice Care staff and all the nursing staff and aides at Villages of Lonsdale for all of their compassionate care and love shown to our Mother. It was deeply appreciated during these challenging Covid 19 times.
