Douglas Wayne Anderson

March 23, 1938 ~ March 12, 2019 (age 80)

Douglas Wayne Anderson, age 80 of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, March 12, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin, surrounded by his loving family. Douglas was born on March 23, 1938, in Austin, Minnesota, to Alvin and Mabel (Bell) Anderson. He grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1956. Douglas served his country by joining the United States Marines. On September 25, 1987, Douglas married Elsie Gonzales in Fresno, California. Douglas lived in California for many years and moved back to Austin in 1996. He worked at various jobs throughout his life. Douglas enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, and singing karaoke. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.


Survivors include his children, Erik (Vivian) Hall of Clovis, CA, Paul Romero of San Francisco, CA, Joe Maldonado of TX, Tina Maldonado of Clovis, CA, Michelle Maldonado of Fresno, CA, Antoinette Maldonado of CA, Felicia Maldonado of Fresno, CA, Elsie Cambana of TX, Joann Maldonado of Guam, Alfred (Michael) Carter of Albert Lea, MN, Erika Anderson of Fresno, CA, Douglas (Jessica Hutchinson) Anderson II of Austin, MN, Faith Anderson of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Josh, Savannah, Christopher, Anthony, Elijah, Melissa, Mia, Manuel, Matthew, Marissa, Damien, Gabriel, Joseph, Llilyana, Amaris, Annabel, Mia, and Beckham; brother, Dan (Myrna) Hall of Cottage Grove, MN; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Mabel Anderson; wife, Elsie Gonzales; one brother, Glen; and one sister, Dehona.


Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Memorials can be directed to the family. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
