History

In the latter half of the nineteenth century, J.G. Worlein handcrafted Worlein Familywood furniture and caskets. In 1894, his son, J.J. Worlein graduated in the first class of licensed embalmers in Minnesota. In 1946, Ward Worlein came to the area and operated funeral homes in Austin and Lyle. His sons, John and Paul Worlein, joined the firm later. In 1990, the Blooming Prairie chapel was purchased and expanded. With the present facility in Austin completed in 1993, we continue to be a family dedicated to serving others.

Over 100 years have passed, but today Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes remains a family-run business and is one of the oldest continuous funeral service families in the state. We were here yesterday, are here today, and will be here tomorrow to serve you.
