Obituary
Elaine Ahles, age 66, of Austin, died Saturday morning, June 19, 2010 at the Austin Medical Center. Elaine Dorothy Langerud was born September 2, 1943 in Faribault, Minnesota to John Arthur and Edna Dorothy (Thibodeau) Langerud. She went to public schools in Blooming Prairie and Claremont and graduated on May 25, 1961 from Claremont High School. Elaine married Jimmie A. Ahles on August 5, 1961 in Beloit, Wisconsin. She continued her education at Austin Junior College and on June 1, 1966 received her Associate of Arts degree with Distinction. Elaine worked at Hormel Foods as an accounting clerk in the Corporate Office retiring after 39 years of service. Jimmie and Elaine lived all of their married lives in Austin. Elaine enjoyed bowling with the Hormel Girls in earlier years. She also liked to camp, gamble, and travel. She loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband, Jimmie, Austin, daughter, Deborah (Philip) Van Syoc, Cedar Falls, Iowa, son, Dean (Chera-Lynn) Ahles, Austin, five grandchildren, McKala, McKinze, Alyssa, Drew, Hailey, two brothers, Raymond (Betty) Langerud, St. Louis, Missouri, Gordon Langerud, Rockton, Illinois, two sisters, Joanne (Wayne) Finne, Rochester, Kathy (Steve) Canterbury, Harmony, half-brother, Jimmy Langerud, Wisconsin, nieces, nephews. She is preceded in death by parents (John and Edna), sister (Helen), brother (William) "Billy".
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Lorraine Loecher officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Friends may call at Worlein Funeral Home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. The family prefers memorials to the American Red Cross.
